The present company's history can be traced back more than four decades to when, in 1966, Mr John Bannerman set up in business and traded from London's Covent Garden as John Bannerman Limited, a Lloyd's broker.
Later joined in the business by his son Greig, John Bannerman built and nurtured a team with the capacity to provide a personal, bespoke service to clients. In 1996, the company relocated to City of London premises much closer to the Lloyd's market.
A company with a strong family ethos, John Bannerman Limited continued to develop its expertise across a wide range of insurances, including cargo, stock and transit, freight forwarding, property & liability, grounds maintenance, travel and yachts/cruisers.
Also located close to the Lloyd's market, Rendell & Partners Limited was established more recently to specialise in professional indemnity and related insurances for firms as diverse as architects, bloodstock brokers, financial boutiques and motor dealers.
It was in late 2006 that Rendell & Partners took over the John Bannerman company, changing its name to Bannerman Rendell Limited in 2007. The combined operation has built on the strengths of both teams to create a formidable insurance broker.
