Our history can be traced back more than four decades. In 1966, John Bannerman set up in business and traded from London's Covent Garden as John Bannerman Limited, a Lloyd's broker. Later joined in the business by his son Greig, John Bannerman built and nurtured a team with the capacity to provide a personal, bespoke service to clients.

In 1996, the company relocated to the City of London close to the Lloyd's market. A company with a strong family ethos, John Bannerman Limited continued to develop its expertise across a wide range of insurances, including cargo, yachts, freight forwarding, property & liability, and travel. Located close to the Lloyd's market, Rendell & Partners Limited was established more recently to specialise in professional indemnity and related insurances for firms as diverse as architects, bloodstock brokers and financial boutiques.

It was in late 2006 that Rendell & Partners took over John Bannerman Ltd, changing its name to Bannerman Rendell Limited in 2007. The combined operation has built on the strengths of both teams to create a formidable insurance broker.

The Lloyd's market has always prided itself in being the world's largest insurance centre. Its scale presents great opportunities to accredited brokers, particularly those like Bannerman Rendell whose business conduct helps set them apart from the rest. Among our particular strengths is the ability to adapt service and price to meet the client's particular needs.
